Vivian Wagner Associate Professor of English at Muskingum University has loves her job as a professor how ever that is not her sole focus she does this outside of her career also such as jewelry design.

She became interested in jewelry when she saw a wire wrap and she thought she could do that too.

“I have always been interested in rocks and crystals,” said Dr. Wagner Associate Professor of English.

Having always interested in rocks and crystals she now has a way to incorporate them into her wardrobe by finding this interest in wire wraps.

She then found YouTube how-to videos so she could learn how to make different pieces because it didn’t look that difficult.

“I started learning about wire wrapping so that I could make my own pendants for crystals that I want to wear so yeah I started watching some YouTube videos, gathering rocks,” said Wagner.

She gathers rocks or crystals in rivers or streams or she finds them when she makes trips to places in the Southwest region.

Wire wraps involve a certain of wire for jewelry making or design. Wagner started seeing these jewelry designs and thought it would be fun to try

“I think once I started seeing wire wraps I just thought it was something that it was something I could do my self [or] teach my self how to do so I went to Hobby Lobby and got some materials,” said Wagner.

She has a passion for this outside of her career, and she makes jewelry for herself and for her friends and family.

The wire wrap can give some freedom with creativity with how the wire can be wrapped around the stone or other materials that could be incorporated.

One of the favorite pieces she has made was one that she made for one of her friends, a snow moon pendant. She calls it her snow moon pendant.

“She said hasn’t taken it off since I gave it to her,” said Wagner

One of her future goals for jewelry making is to try and make a tree of life pendant a more complicated design than others she has done before.

“It’s not easy it takes some time, it takes some practice,” said Wagner.

She loves the desert landscape frequents trips to the Southwest region Arizona New Mexico and other parts of that region.

“I’m attracted to the southwest,” said Wagner

She enjoys on the west coast region in part because she grew up there and there are happy memories there for her.

She feels at home when she travels to the southwest region and is around the desert landscape.

She hopes to one-day be able to spend more time somewhere in that region (Arizona, New Mexico) when she retires maybe six months she hopes.

“It’s more of a long term goal,” said Wagner.

For now she just takes occasional trips to the southwest region to go rock hunting and enjoy the area and landscape.

Having grown up in the Southwest region that landscape holds a special place in her heart.

She loves the landscape of the Southwest and the rocks and crystals that can be found in that area.

“The desert land scape is so beautiful to me,” said Wagner.
