What MPB does in the planning process and how the plan events
Muskingum Programming Board (MPB) is the main programming leg of Student Senate
MPB’s programs are directed towards students connecting with other students to get to know people.
“We typically do it for students to get them active and involved in social interaction with other students” , said Adam Brown President of MPB.
When MPB are planning out their different events they hope the students will have fun at these events and there are several things they take into consideration when planning.
“When we’re a certain event we think will the student’s like this?, will it have a good attendance?, will it get people to come out and enjoy it as much as we do?” , said Brown.
MPB tried a new event this year that was popular with the students that they are hoping to bring back.
“I know this year we started “lip-sync battles”, which is a popular TV show so we decided to do our own version of it and it was a big hit on campus” , said Katelyn King Marketing Chair for MPB.
Students want to have fun at these events and that is what MPB hopes and plans that happen.
“Helping students have fun on the weekends is one of our priorities”, said Brown.
This fun that the students enjoy especially at the larger more popular events takes more time to plan.
MPB wants to make sure that not only the event stays true to the original idea but it has some new things added to make it different than years past.
“Some of our bigger ones, like “Caketacular” and “Boat regatta” we have them planned as previous years, so we start off from previous years make little changes”, said Brown.

When there is a comedian on campus on a Saturday night some students maybe wondering how MPB finds and or gets these acts to come to our campus.
There is actually a conference where comedians and magicians and other acts like that have showcases that can be viewed and selected to come to a campus for an event like Muskingum’s.
“We go to a conference called NACA[National Association for Campus Activities], and I actually got to go this year for the first time it was really fun we go to showcases and we get to see the different performers and we pick the ones we think will be the biggest hit on campus.”, said King.
Students coming and having fun on the weekends is what the events are made to do they pick them hoping the students will come and enjoy them.
